Lee K. Levy II

Strategic Executive Leader, CEO, Board Member, NASA

Lee K Levy II is an independent aerospace and defense consultant and President and CEO of The Levy Group, LLC. He is also currently serving as a member of the NASA Advisory Council. During his final assignment in the United States Air Force, he was the commander of the Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC), Air Force Materiel Command, headquartered at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He led nearly 43,000 total force U.S. and U.K. Airmen to deliver global combat effects for the immediate and long-term requirements of combatant commanders, allies, Foreign Military Sales Partners, and the whole of government. Though headquartered in Oklahoma City, the command comprised 73 global locations, more than $26B in assets generating over $16B revenue annually. Previously, he served as the Vice Director of Logistics on the Joint Staff, which supports the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in his role as the principal military advisor to the President. He also directed the U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) Deployment and Distribution Operations Center in Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. He also served as Director of Logistics for Air Mobility Command where he had global logistics and sustainment responsibility for the USAF’s airlift, air refueling, aeromedical evacuation, and national-level VIP fleets. Simultaneously he served as Director of Logistics for US Strategic Command Task Force 294. Prior to that, he commanded the 402d Maintenance Wing of over 10,000 total force airmen in support of US, DOD, and allied nations including sustainment and modification of the C-17, C-5, C-130, and F-15 fleets. His 34-year Air Force career encompassed numerous assignments and career areas including acquisition, operational testing, logistics and sustainment, supply chain, industrial base readiness, advanced manufacturing, civil engineering, strategy development, and nuclear operations.

A New Orleans, LA native, his military career began in 1985 when he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Louisiana State University. He also has earned a graduate certificate in systems management from the University of Southern California, and a Master of Science degree in International Relations from Troy State University. He also earned a master’s degree in national security and strategic studies from the Naval War College. His education also includes completing Harvard’s John F Kennedy School of Government’s Senior Executive Fellows Program and Senior Executives in National and International Security programs as well as the Air Force Enterprise Leadership seminar at the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia; and the LOGTECH Executive Program at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler School of Business
