Stephen Chaplin is the Vice President of Health, Safety & Environment at EllisDon. With over 35 years of operational experience in resource-based and heavy industries, as well as previous leadership roles in public and not-for-profit organizations, Stephen has provided strategic leadership and direction for many health, safety and environmental management systems. As a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Stephen has established a track record of excellence in transforming HSE performance while cultivating strong relationships. Within his current role, Stephen provides leadership, mentorship and guidance relating to HSE across the business. Under his direction, EllisDon continues to maintain industry-wide safety leadership through best practices and initiatives. Stephen’s areas of expertise include: HSE Culture Development & Evolution, HSE Systems & Processes and Critical Investigations. In 2021, Stephen was the recipient of the Roy A Phinnemore Award, presented to individuals who have diligently served the cause of construction health and safety through services, contributions, inventions, and procedures.
